South-west 'faring well' with new build house price rises

The south-west property market has recorded significant increases
on the value of new-build homes in the region, according to a
report in the Times.
After collating market information for November, property website
Smartnewhomes.co.uk formulated a list of the top five districts in
terms of new-build house price rises.
This could be good news for estate agents in Plymouth, as Devon is
one of the counties to experience gains in its real estate
values.
Other areas where property prices are on the up include the
north-west and the south-east.
Speaking to the newspaper, managing director at the company David
Bexton commented: "The biggest turnaround has occurred in the
south-west, which was second only to London for annual growth in
October."
Prices in the region rose by 4.4 per cent during October to reach
an average of £216,610, however, they are still down by 1.1
per cent on an annual basis.
Smartnewhomes.co.uk published the results of a survey in November,
which revealed that people are becoming less hostile towards new
housing development in their area amid concerns of a housing
shortage.
